OK Auckland and Melbourne have had their turn, so now we've turned our attention to child friendly cafés for all you Sydney peeps. The funky Sydney cafes we've mentioned below are all well known for the way they've blended some fine cuisine with kid-friendly spaces that'll help get the whole fam out the door without anybody dragging their feet!
1. Sprout Wholefoods Café - Naremburn
In Naremburn lies Sprout Wholefoods Café and Grocer, a great café that focuses on locally sourced, healthy and delicious food. As a result, the kids menu offers a refreshing choice of fantastic, simple yet unprocessed sugar-free goodness.
What we love about Sprout is its nurturing, easy-going
philosophy embraced by all who go there and its back deck with its own little
cubby house and toddler car. You can even have a little picnic on the grassy
area out back. It’s a family favourite … for good reason.

2. The Grounds of Alexandria Cafe - Alexandria
One of the greatest assets in the inner west, The Grounds of Alexandria has a bit of everything. It’s a kid-friendly café, outdoor sanctuary, environmentally-friendly spot that you simply must check out.
With a mouth-watering seasonal menu and a strong, fragrant cup of Joe to boot, you’ll love the rustic fare on offer here while the kids are off playing with the farm animals or exploring the grounds.
We guarantee you and your kids will love wandering
around this acre-large grounds, amongst the aroma of its wonderful coffee
facility and the permaculture garden of heirloom veggies, herbs and flowers.

3. Bitton Gourmet - Alexandria
The aim of Bitton Gourmet is to produce five star quality French food at café prices. Situated right in the heart of Alexandria, Bitton Gourmet is a local fan favourite for its friendly atmosphere and seasonal menus.
Another contrast from the majority of five-star restaurants is its family-friendly environment. Not only does this gem of a café cater to kids, it also has a back terrace full of toys, where parents enjoying some exotic crepes or Pomme Frites or glass of bubbly can keep a watchful eye over the kids.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you’ll be sure
to love the French-oriented menu. Check it out today.

4. 2773 Glenbrook - Glenbrook
Located at the foot of the stunning Blue Mountains, this remote 2773 Glenbrook café is a must-see. With its own in-house roasted coffee and mostly organic, local produce, it’s, as they say, "heaven for your palate and your soul".
A wonderful place for families, 2773 has an enclosed outdoor play area with friendly pigs(!), chickens and a veggie patch. It’s at once comfortable, family-friendly and educational. Plus the food’s damn tasty.
Among the main boutique stores in Glenbrook, 2773 is a funky café serving delicious fare including wood fired pizzas and all-day breakfast. Catering to all manner of diets (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc), 2773 is where Glenbrook gathers.
This idyllic setting will leave you speechless. It offers plenty of fun for the kids, tasty food and a wide selection of drinks (Photo courtesy of: 2773).
5. Duck Duck Goose - Randwick
When we send our kids to the corner, it’s usually because they’ve traipsed mud through the house or been naughty. But in this Randwick institution, our kids beg us to go to the corner. That’s because Duck Duck Goose has a fantastic play area with toys and chalkboard sure to keep the kids occupied for ages.
After they’ve finished playing and giving you time to relax, you can order some food off the fun kids’ menu. It even has the option of a 3-course menu for your kid to feel like one of the grown-ups. The 3-course menu is a healthy smoothie, a choice of main and a dessert of decadent ice-cream.
Duck Duck Goose just screams fun, from its name to its
menu, so get in while you can!
